Description :
On the way from New Jalpaiguri to Mirik to Darjeeling or on the way from Darjeeling to Mirik, many have visited the border view point after Sukhiapokhri or not. The name of this place comes from the border village of West Bengal and Nepal. West Bengal on one side of the road and Nepal on the other side. Although the altitude is around 7000 feet, due to the mountain slopes, snow falls almost every year. The pine forest on the border road from Sukhia then became Lover's Road to the locals. This view point and the adjoining area are famous for Kanchenjunga darshan. From here you will be mesmerized by the scenic view of Nepal roads including Sandakphu. The constellations juxtaposed against the backdrop of Kanchenjunga in a cloudless sky creates a heavenly atmosphere that is visually and speechless. Not to mention one more thing. At this view point there is a small market set up by the tribals. An attractive environment combining local food, drinks and decorations and exotic chocolates. It will be preserved in the memory of the mind forever.
Where to Stay :
There are a handful of homestays near the border view point. We will stay at Bhutia Homestay. 5 rooms, can accommodate 17 to 20 people. A 360° view of Kanchenjunga can be seen from the rooftop of the homestay. Barti Paona Village Walk. After lunch this short tour of the Nepalese village will give you a clear idea of the local life and lifestyle. And the rare fortune of stargazing through a telescope at night seems to be nowhere else. Hospitality and dining? I am waiting for the opinions of those who will go.
